Ely’s Hawk & Buzzard, ed JW Ely, Aug 31, 1833.  expose folly. mostly correspondence.  illustration of some boys, hogs, beer barrel upset, satire on Aldermen? and another similar style of cartoon.  Likes Noah’s Evening Star.

Hawk & Buzzard Sept 21 1833, p. 3, illustr of dandy black man, with monocle, blackface, and in a tale of the olden time in NY, wishes for pencil fo Jarvis to picture the scene of confusion when unexpected visitors come.

aim is for an indep press, notes John I is in fine spirits since the Courier hauled down her flag, likes him.  dislikes C & E. praises Jackson
